Two-fer Thursday

Yep, you read that right.

TWO-fer.

This is my second post on this fine Thursday.

I had a really serendipitous connection with a stranger today.

Or perhaps he was an intuitive.

I don't need to find an explanation for the occurrence,

I just wanted to share it.

Earlier today we went for a casual breakfast/brunch/lunch ~ whatever you wish to call it.

We wanted something close,

within a shorter walking distance,

so we headed to a place we've been to once before in downtown Victoria that we loved...

Frankie's Modern Diner

We love the diner vibe,

the friendly welcoming staff,

the various amazing items on the huge menu,

the cool tunes that play overhead

.

And I have to mention,

the house famous mimosa's with fresh squeezed OJ.

It's vacation.

Don't judge.

We arrived to the restaurant a few minutes before Eleven.

We had the option to chose off the breakfast menu which you can order from until 11:30

or the full menu which starts serving at 11:00 am.

The best of both worlds.

I was thinking breakfast.

Since it's vacation, I wanted to stray from my typical Poached eggs on Rye with fruit.

The first thing that caught my eye was

Chicken & Waffle.

House made buttermilk fried chicken breast tenders,

house made Belgian waffle

finished with

cider & rosemary syrup!

How intriguing

&

unique

&

different

&

not my typical,

very

out of my norm ordering zone.

A vacation indulgence.

As we sat in a semi circular booth,

over looking the room,

out of ear shot of anyone.

I told my husband what my thoughts were of my first choice.

He shared his.

But then My eyes starting glancing to the lunch menu...

then back to the breakfast menu...

and to the various Eggs Benedict meals.

I Love eggs benny ~ a breakfast fave indulgence.

Our coffee arrived.

Although Mark's mind was made up, I needed a few more minutes.

For those of you who have ever been out for a meal with me,

you know this is the norm.

Perusing and choosing is part of the experience.

So as I pursued the menu,

a man walked into the dining area heading from the entrance.

He stopped at our table,

looked to me and said

"the Chicken & Waffle is really great".

Mind blown.

Mark was flabbergasted.

Well then, I replied, the Chicken & Waffle it is.

How did he know that was the one thing I had truly considered ordering?

I Love these little intriguing moments of connection.

They happen to me all of the time.
